I liked it to but I still see no point in a remake

For the love of God, why? Just let that game go already. It won't be much different, and the story is still going to be nigh-incomprehensible.

If any FF deserves the next-gen remake treatment, it would be FFVI. It would benefit the most from the tech upgrade as it would be making the transition from 2D sprites to 3D models, not to mention that game just kicks ass.

I love VII and would love to see a remake. VI is awesome as well and I would love to replay six as well with new graphics.

The JRPS tend to bore me to tears.

I played VII and loved it. Didn't play VIII. IX and X were actually pretty good before I got bored with them.

If it were up to me the FF X-2 would be the standardfor the franchise (goofy as it was) since at least that game was A) Non linear and B) allowed you to change classes/jobs on the fly.

most people do, it is just 'kewl' on the internet to hate on it. The materia system was great, the gameplay was challenging, it had the sense to level up all your characters concurrently (which 6 did not, and 6 also forced you to split up into two different teams a couple of times in the story). And I will say this, the characters in VII are the most memorable out of all the games for me. VII had the most characters (I think) some awesome some incredibly lame but I forget a lot of them. I am not going to say that VII had the best, or the best designs but they were certainly memorable. For the best designs I think IX had the best designs.

Also the reason everyone wants PSone games to be remade is because they are friggin unplayable because the graphics are so bad. They were the first 3D games and it is just atrocious to look back at them. Games on all the nintendo system have been able to maintain a visually pleasing style, I have no problem with 8 bit games, or 16 bit, or even 64 bit, but the Playstation games looking back is like puke to me.

That would be a point in its favor then.

But I don't think I'm the target audience.

I liked Skies Of Arcadia way more than any FF game other than 7. And even there its a tie. So I'm pretty sure my opinion doesn't count.

I don't hate VII, but it's clearly overrated. And VI had way more characters and they all had an intricate backstory that's clearly understandable.

IIRC you could have four players on the screen at a time in VI but it has been a while. VI had a lot of characters and inevitably it is going to have characters you hate. Personally I hated Gau, the way you acquire, his backstory everything was dumb. He reminded of the ancient chick from Chrono Trigger. Looking through the wiki I am beginning to remember a little bit about each character but the only one I flat out hated was the feral kid, I also seem to remember a samurai who really stunk in the game too.

I do not know though, maybe it was the fact that I played VII non-stop when I first got into it but I was never confused about the story or the character motivations. I liked all the characters and hated that I could only have three on screen at a time.

I know that I can not fairly compare the two though, I have a lot of nostalgicness for VII, whereas I played VI much later both are great games and I think both would be fine for a remake. FF VIII and X were where the series really took a dive in quality for me.

You mean Cyan (the samurai)? He was great. He had a really brutal, heartbreaking story in the game and his SwordTech skills were badass. I think you just might not the way these characters talk (Cyan had a lot of thees and thous and Gau spoke broken English...same with Ayla in Chrono Trigger).

And plus, Kefka >>>>>> Sephiroth as a villain. What I like about Kefka is that he's just truly evil. No redeeming qualities make him a true villian. He's also fucking crazy. And what happens when a sick, crazy lunatic basically becomes God? He lays waste to EVERYTHING. I need to find a sound clip of his laugh and use it as a ring tone or text alert.

I liked his 16-bit laugh
