I think this Wolrd Cup might hold some surprises, Some of the big teams that you would normally give a very good chance of victory to (France, Argentina, Italy and some more) have had fairly uninspiring runs of form recently.

If he's fit, Lennon should be first choice for that position. Milner is better in the centre IMO, but he won't replace Gerrard or Lampard just yet, so he comes after Lennon.

Walcott works best as an impact sub, his pace will wear down tired defenders if brought on with 30, 20 minutes to go. I do think he's good though.

Adam Johnson has been better than Walcott as well.

He's not played enough games for City yet I don't think.

Must have played about 10 games and been outstanding for the most part.

According to the Guardian, Rooney's starting tonight. This is probably going to end badly. Very badly.

No way is Rooney starting today. Just no way in hell.

As for Adam Johnson. Amazing talent. But he won't be going to the WC. In four years he may be a sure bet though.

You're definitely wrong about one, I wouldn't be surprised if you're wrong about the other. Johnson in my mind has pretty much cemented his place.

Johnson's going nowhere near the World Cup, he's behind Walcott, Lennon and Milner, maybe ever Wright-Phillips in the pecking order. Maybe if he'd spent the whole season in the Premiership and gotten some England experience, but I just can't see him going this summer.

Thing is Johnson is left footed, playing the best out of any of those players, and can play either flank. He'll be going I imagine. Capello could take

Johnson
Cole
Walcott
Lennon
And Milner. And be sorted for both wings.

Played well, and had some great performances, which is why I aren't that annoyed.

united started off so well but the red card cost them. They didn't have the posession. Irish pundit is saying it is the end of the united era, would you agree?
