It doesn't sell as well as one issue of the tri-monthly book!

That's insane.

I'm sure it'll settle with a set audience at some point.. probably around 45,000 I'm guessing. But that's really a far cry from where that book once was.

A lot of people lost interest in the MU after Ultimatum, plus the poor art has hurt the book.

Still i do not see why people get so bent out of shape about what the Bass says, he has some good points. Robert Kirkman did a couple of good things at Marvel but he just could not cut it with established characters. He did in fact say in a video interview that he felt that Marvel and DC should push "all age" books and let the real art be done by creator owned stuff, which is pretty arrogant I think.

the sales numbers on Amazing Spider-man are pretty crappy too, when are they going to stop this thrice a month non-sense? It really has done very little to help tell a linear story.

My signed David LAFUENTE~ sketch of Spider-Man and Mary Jane says FUCK YOU Man....

True story: two years ago, and Dublin Con, LaFuente, then pretty unknown, he'd only had the Spider-Annual published, was in the signing booth at the same time as Olivier Coipiel. Huge line for Coipiel, just me for him. We had such a cool conversation, that people came over, just to talk to us, and David invited me to sit down with him as he sketched. Great day...

plus the poor art has hurt the book.

ARRRGHHHHHHHHHH

You say such decent things otherwise sir...

The interest was already waning before Ultimatum... It's pretty much had steady losses its entire run.

to be honest there are three factors at play there. #1 had like twelve hundred variants...
and I am guessing the 3.99 price tag hurt it a bit.

Sadly, there's STILL people in the shop bitching about One More Day. Hopefully O.M.I.T. in July finally ends that nonsense

Plus, for every issue of Amazing written by FVL, or Zeb Wells, or Joe Casey, we've had to put up with a stinker from Roger Stern or Guggenheim.

that's funny since the Stern one with Juggernaut is the only one to perform as well as Kelly's Rhino issues.

I did like the last Roger Stern issue, though I realize some people did not. Guggenheim however should just leave comics forever, he is terrible.

Stupid confusing Joe KELLY with Joe CASEY again..(and they work together, for fucks sake)

And Stern's Jeggernaut issue was BRUTAL by the standards I've become accustomed to. I just curl up into a ball muttering "Bachalo is coming, Bachalo is coming", everytime he makes with the idiot dialogue straight from the sixties

Guggenheim however should just leave comics forever

I'm STAGGERED DC gave him Action, especially after he got out of his Marvel deal to do his TV show, saying he needed the time to work on the show. Given that he's possibly the biggest John Byrne fan working in comics, I dread to think what he'll do to Action. I have a bet with a regular, given that he has Luthor back, that he'll ruin all the work gone into the character over the past few years, and he'll revert him to the idiot he was during the Byrne years...

Kirkman is being a pretentious douche as usual(Aside: The Bass being a total asshole doesn't make him not right.), but in this case I agree with him because it gets Loeb as far away from things I want to read as humanly possible. Well, unless he wants to team up with Sale again and do Buffy: Pink, a reworking of her origin to fit with the TV series and comics. I would totally read that.

Something that everyone should know: There is no objective good and very little objective bad in entertainment media. Of the objective bad, much of it is unintentionally hilarious which gives it entertainment value for some people. If you understood this then 99% of your petty arguments would never happen. Learn to realize that you have different tastes then the guy you are arguing with and move on. And before someone calls me a hypocrite, notice that I never go in calling something bad. I always go in to defend something.
