Odd that a guy in favour of kiddie books would do a MAX book, don't you think?
You do realize that by "books for kids," he means 13-year-olds and not actual children, right?
If that results in a mass exodus of creators leaving Marvel and DC, don't panic guys, I love their books as much as everyone else -- nobody wants to hurt them in the process. Look at it like an opportunity, that's the time for Marvel and DC to step up the plate and make their comics viable for a whole new generation. Less continuity, more accessible stories -- not made for kids, but appropriate for kids. Books that would appeal to everyone still reading comics, but would also appeal to the average 13 year old too. There are a wealth of talented creators who haven't yet reached a level where they can sell books on their own -- they can do awesome work for the companies and be happy doing it.

I want Kirkman to succeed in his quest to take Loeb from Marvel.

The thing is you can have stuff that appeals to adults and teenagers that are good, or you can only have things that appeal to teenagers, which would be stupid.

Umm...the former appears to be exactly what he's proposing.

To me the stuff now is appropriate for teens, if you wanted to appeal to them more you would have to write specifically for them, which probably would not appeal to an adult.

I am not sure what I believe anymore. All I know is that Marvel Zombies and Antman were great and I still need to pick up an invincible trade. If the guy is a giant douce, which the video posted in another thread supports, it really does not bother me. Who knows though he could be the nicest guy ever.

I've heard bad things about him, but he did sell me the first 2 Invincible HC for $20 TOTAL and signed by him, Ottley and the guy whose name I always forget because I didn't have enough money on me. Just for that, he made a fan that day.
