Great issue. I haven't read many comics in the past month or two but I made sure to read this one. Art was top notch, coloring was great, dialogue was great, pacing was great. I really can't complain about anything in this book. This is the perfect book for Hickman to be on. He's a brilliant big picture storyteller and giving him the world of Marvel to play with is fantastic casting by Quesada. Hickman should thrive on this book. The Marvel fanbase will now see him as being the star that he is. I can imagine him tying this in with both Secret Warriors and Fantastic Four which are also two of my favorite monthly reads.

Story 10
Art 10

Overall 10

Punchy wrote:Yes, Night Machine.

Plus, the name Night Machine does link in with Leonid's weird star powers.

I think if secret-SHIELD collected Leonid the cosmic dynamo, they'd be interested in Franklin Richards in present day too.

The end of this series will have to be this Shield having to go underground or being completely destroyed. Leaving Fury in charge. Or at least that's how I see it.

Wonder when the other organizations will start playing a part.

Punchy asked why someone liked the obvious LEAD character of the book. He's the one we are supposed to identify with in the first place!

Also doombug, if he's Tesla then can I plz have a RASL crossover? With Bowie in it? That would be an unholy uber comic and I would love it.

You're allowed, I was just intrigued as to why, to me he seemed very dull, I'm wondering what I'm missing, not calling anyone else out.

Well, we're sure to get more interested in him as it's all fleshed out and he actually takes initiative at some point to do something. He was a very passive character here, even as the writers' self-professed stand-in for the reader.

To me, the most interesting teases were the flashbacks to the past, and I hope those individual stories get explored more in-depth in the future.

Ahaha. I wrote "flashblacks" originally.

Exactly, the past was much more interesting than the present here.

They are the Spear

Something in one of the back matters in Secret Warriors has Hydra as the spear, and I think there's a line from the Baron saying something about being the spear too.

Jeff Smith and Hickman working together would be too epic to comprehend.
