Whedon to Direct Avengers?!

ImageWill Joss Whedon direct the upcoming Avengers movie from Marvel?!

It seems that cult favorite director Joss Whedon may be in line to direct Marvel's Avengers movie. Whedon, of course, is beloved by fans for his work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible, and a 25 issue run on Astonishing X-Men. It is being reported in Hollywood rumor circles that Whedon is in the final stage of negotiations to direct the movie for Marvel. The Avengers movie, which is likely to tie together the Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America movie franchises, is due out in 2012. We'll keep you updated.

Hopefully this is a rumor, I like Whedon okay but I am not sure he has any clue on how to direct a superhero movie, of course he has directed several episodes of his ensemble shows.

Knows how to write amazing epic stories: Check
