Blue Beetle #28 (Spoilers)

Postby Stephen Day » Thu Jul 03, 2008 8:03 pm

The last two issues have been nowhere near the greatness of John Rogers' run, but they've still been good. Seeing the original Blue Beetle and Jaime dealing with the same threat in two different decades was fun to read.

The old guy walking his dog being the same man as Dr. Mephistopheles was a little predictable I found, but that didn't ruin my enjoyment. I kind of hope the character appears again as an ally of Jaime.

That's how I felt about it as well. Hopefully when the new permanent writer comes on it picks back up a bit.

Speaking of the new permanent writer, I can't remember if that's been announced yet. Matthew Sturgis is listed as the writer for issue #31 in the latest soliciattions. Is it him?

I believe so. It said in the next solicit that he's the new writer and implied it was for a while.

Yeah, I'm pretty certain at a con, DC announced it was him. Funny thing though, if I still picking up Blue Beetle when he joins, two-thirds of my DC pull list will be by him.

I'm in totaly agreement with you guys. The last two issue's weren't bad, but they were no where near the calliber this title has been putting out. Although it's always cool to see the original Blue Beetle.

I'm really looking forward to Matt being on the book.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Good-bye.."
