Siege: Secret Warriors

Damn Ares’ son is a bad mama jama. Okay, so I have a confession to make, I got behind on Secret Warriors. Shock. Craziness. Yeah, I know… I am working on rectifying that situation. That being said. This was a pretty cool book. It is far from essential, I doubt Alex’s actions will have big consequences for the universe until some time in the future, but it was fun to watch him kick much secret service ass and his letter was pretty burly too.

Speaking of fun and burliness, who other then Nick and Steve could discuss getting a bunch of old farts together for a party during a heavy duty hard hitting, a god just died battle.

The art was competent, not much more than really, but that’s all it needed.

In the end, it feels a little light, but it was a good enough story, with good enough art.

If it's big on Phobos\Ares then I'd suggest giving issue 10 a try first. It sounds like it'll tie into that.

No earthly idea, it seemed pretty self contained - other than relying on things going on in Siege, but I haven't been reading SW, so I may be missing out on a bit of context.

Yeah, you've got nothing to worry about. This should've been a lousy 8 page story in a Siege anthology comic, not a lousy 23 page one shot.

Damn, that was bad. It was bad in the same way FF:Dark Reign was bad, but worse.

But yeah, I kind of would like to go on about how much I didn't like it. :oops:

Ok. The art was ugly. Super-ugly. It looked like it was drawn with fat Sharpies. The dialogue was lazy. Both the scene with Fury and the scene with the secret service were dumb and uncredible. I dunno if that's the opposite of incredible or not, but it should be. Especially the secret service scene, it made no sense at all, visually or imagining how such an encounter would go down. Also, watching a so-called good guy maiming and killing dozens secret service agents for no reason, even as stupid as these SS agents acted, was pointless. It made the one interesting character in Secret Warriors unlikeable to me, I was on the fence before but I won't be reading any more Secret Warriors either.

This made X-Men Forever look like Planetary.
