And I get to register for classes. Stupid UofT making me wait! I just want out! OUT OUT OUT!!!

My planned schedule looks pretty kick-ass, but I've never had a year where I got all the classes I wanted.

At least you get to register on-line, right?

Back in my day, we had to physically register. There was this mouse's maze set up in the main gym area...up, down, around, over, filling out this, filling out that.

Near the end, they had The Pit. Essentially, for any holes in your schedule because you didn't get a class you pre-registered for, you could try to pick up in The Pit. You had to stand in line and ask if there were any openings in X class. If not, you had to look back at your class list book and see if there was something else that fit your program and schedule.

I never had to do that, but I know people would spend hours and hours just trying to get a class, waiting by a desk for someone to come by and drop the class they wanted.

Even without having to do The Pit, it was a really terrible experience. The only saving grace is, in a stroke of genius, the Girl Scouts would back a truckload of cookies up to the exit and sell boxes and boxes of cookies.

Y'know, now that I think of it, my brother had to do something like that when he started university. That was only 10 years ago.

I love online registration. Hopefully I'll never have to do this again though :)
