Any comic that shows Phobos going up against the forces of NPWFBH is awesome in my book. Other than that, there wasn't a lot of substance to this book. Just some good old fashioned secret service killing fun. Minus 1 point for NPWFBH getting away, but Kudos for taking him to task for his failure to lead the country, which mirrors real life. Good stuff.

The art was serviceable.

So I'm annoyed, I asked the comic shop to throw the FCBD comics, in particular the GI Joe one, into my bag, and they didn't. Now I gotta find a copy of that shit on ebay or something. :x

They also, for some reason, gave me Ultimate Avengers #1 instead of Secret Warriors #15. And they messed up on giving me Secret Warriors #14 last month. :( And Nova #35.

Like Marvel would've let the President of the United States get whacked by a hero.

Siege: Secret Warriors #1

Story by Jonathan Hickman
Art by Alessandro Vitti

Phobos is a badass, we've known this since around Secret Invasion but here, here it really shines. You never leave the god of fear out of something that his father's life was given for. Phobos battles through what seems to be hundreds of secret service men to deliver a very important message to the president.

Meanwhile in Oklahoma, Nick Fury and the heroes fight against Osborn and Nick once again has a very special conversation with Osborn for some really fun foreshadowing.

All in all this was a good issue that adds on to the mythology of the Secret Warriors. Fury and Phobos are both perfectly in character and the message left for the president was definitely a great moment for the character.

Siege: Secret Warriors

Certainly not the greatest issue, but not a bad one by any means. I particularly enjoyed the stuff with Cap and Nick. That was nice to see. I like the banter when they're fighting and what not. Obviously, Phobos in the main character in this issue. He's definitely portrayed as this super badass kid. I liked the moment between Ares and him (whenever that took place). It was cool to see him go after the president, but I don't how necessary it was. The note was a nice touch.

The art wasn't the best. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly good IMO. I don't know, it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Story- 7
Art- 6
Overall- 6.5

are the secret warriors out in trade yet? This one shot actually made me interested in the series. I have to say this was a fun pick this week.
