I'm somewhere near half-way through S1 of Torchwood, but I plan on watching both seasons, for sure.

That's what I'm trying to do. If I can just get through the last episode of season one. :x

And then Sarah Jane adventures.

How would you recommend going through old Doctor Who, chronologically or start with a particular season?

I started from the beginning and loved the first two doctors.
Totally different show than what it is now but a lot of wacky fun.
Took a break and now I'm currently watching the 3rd Doctor's stories.
Not as much fun and lighthearted as the first two; more of a Quatermass feel to it.

Yeah, chronologically is good, or you can pick a period and run with that. The beginning of the fourth Doctor's era is pretty great IMO.

It was. The whole last two episodes was more getting every companion, family of companions, and spin off character in the show at once and really doing nothing much. Most of them were standing around most of the episodes.

Thank GOD Moffat will be taking over.

On the plus side though, at least no there is no reason to ever see horse face again.

I almost hope Moffat does the same kind of stuff so people won't have that "just wait until Moffat gets here" excuse in their pocket.

Sometimes I don't even understand why alot of you guys (you, and guys like skywatcher and Sunless at the Rama) even follow this version of Doctor Who, because I hardly ever see anything but negativity about it.

So you hope Moffat starts writing poor shows to get the people who don't like RTD's usually poor writing? I am glad he is taking over becuase his episodes have been better than the rest for the most part and classic in a few cases.

Because there are still good episodes made, just not written by RTD for the most part. I liked about half the episodes of it this year (but his finales are usually very poorly written with a lot of Deus Ex Machina bullshit to get him out of plot holes (The Heart of the Tardis crap from S1, the BS from the S3 finale), or to introduce some new bullshit plot element. And his Doctor seems to have other actually "save the day" as much as he does.

I do get much more enjoyment out of the audios though these days. Wider scope of stories and better writing IMO.

I think this has been one of the strongest seasons under RTD, so, quite frankly.. I could care less if some view it as poor writing.

They are the Doctor Who versions of Marvel Zombies/DC Drones. They will follow a title no matter how bad they feel it gets, out of some misguided loyalty to the character.
