DC has said repeatedly that Brightest Day isn't about a shiny and happy new DCU. Have you guys even read the solicits ?

I don't care! I want superheroes fighting supervillains who want to steal or blow shit up. I do not want to have shock value after shock value of slaughter that has no reason or purpose to the story other than to show off DEAR GOD WHY IS THIS PERSON DOING THIS?!

This is why DOOM is the supervillain of all supervillains. He needs not to do this because he's FUCKING DOOM.

Hell even Sinestro didn't have to murder anyone when he returned. His very appearance and what Kyle said made him a hundred times awesome.
