Is the title "Brightest Day" supposed to have some kind of ironic thing going on for it?
Some men just want to watch the world burn.

As hard as Johns tries, he's always going to revert back to type.

According to the comic book forums, no. It's supposed to literally mean Happy Times in the DCU.

But you're probably correct.

That would put too much of a strain on Punchy's comic budget

But was the baby white? Cuz if yes, then we know it's gonna come back to life soon. If it was a minority baby... well, death has to mean something in comics, right?

If the baby would grow up and become a legacy character, he's even more screwed.

If it was a minority baby we'd already have twelve threads about it.

This.

I saw one scan of that scene, she stabbed her hubby through the throat and her son with a drum stick. Then she killed her daughter with the Guitar Hero controller. Followed by peeling her own face off.

I'm so glad I am staying away from this series.

This book should be renamed Brightest Blood. Cause that's all that it has going for it, the gore. Seriously.. what the hell DC? I'm just glad I only have GLC and the tender love of the Cyborg Superman to comfort me through this.

I miss the happy go lucky DC universe.

It's sad that they feel the need to out gritty Marvel.

It's also slightly bizarre. Dan Didio is so obsessed with silver age heroes that he's slowly bringing them all back but with none of the silver age settings.

Even when I was reading some of the tie-ins to Blackest Night I was sort of surprised by how much blood & entrails and dismemberments and such there were. The entire DCU should need intensive counseling at this point.
