In other news, I enjoyed the first half of Under the Hood, but didn't get the second when it turned out his return was due to stupid. Any in-story reason at all would have been better than that.

I don't follow you. There is no reason at all given in the book. He just clawed his way out of the coffin. Part of what is set up in the first issue is a sense of mystery surrounding his return.

The reason given for his return was given in an issue of Infinite Crisis or a tie-in of it.

I wouldn't go with Batman #700 because that would mean 3 Bat-books in a row.

yeah, that's not the reason in this book though - because a. there is no way they would know that yet (or at all) and b. they are looking for a reason.

It is left as a mystery in the book in question.

This week's book from this week I have no idea about since I didn't read it yet. I'm talking about the Under the Hood story from when he first came back that I didn't finish reading.

oh, yeah. well again... that's not specificly the reason in the story though is it? It is the reason given at the time. I think maybe the annual infers it, that is why I want to read it again (or for the first couple issues of Under the Red Hood, for the first time) to make sure, cause I can't remember.

I never said anything bad or good about this story though, I just said I'd dropped the original story halfway through. This I'm actually looking forward to reading.

Some other book gave us a bs reason and that was it. No reason for it was given as part of the story and when a guy being back from the dead is the thrust of your plot, it's not a big ask to give us a reason why. The story dipped into IC for the sole reason of an ass-pull resolution and nothing else.
The presence of reality altering super-teens from a line-wide crossover in what was previously a relatively grounded and self-contained story jarred me out of it.

@Zero: so just to be clear... a book that came out several months later pulled you out a book you were enjoying. (The last issue of Under the Red Hood came out in August of 2005, Infinite Crisis began in October)
