Was that the Diggle mini? I've been thinking of picking that up but i heard the story isn't resolved or it builds up to another story that's never been done or something?

it IS resolved, it DOES lead into Infinite Crisis (via Rann-Thanagar War), and it doesn't matter, b/c it is fantastic. pick it up.

This ^

It does set up another story at the very end but the main story the book is telling is resolved within it's pages.

Fraction wrote Thor: Ages of Thunder, which is among my favorite comic books ever, I'm confident he gets Thor (unlike the X-Men).

And Pasqual Ferry is among my favorite Spaniards ever, his art is so beautifull.

Like the others said it's pretty self-contained. It was one of the first DC stories I read and it's tied to DC cosmic stuff but in a way where you the reader need to know everything in advance.
