Ive recently got into Thor and i have one question.
Is Donald Blake Thor? Or is Thor Donald Blake?
Both men have had lives up the points where Blake found the cane in the cave, but after that things get a little hazy....
Can someone explain this to me?

I think of it as Donald Blake is Thor and Thor is Donald Blake. At most cases they are separate people the co-habitats the same physical body. Thor does not know about what it means to be a doctor nor does Blake know how to be a warrior.

I'm pretty sure that Donald Blake was created by Odin to teach Thor humility. That's why Donald Blake disappeared from the books for a while c
They're the same person.

Yes, it was only in the very early books that Don Blake "became" Thor. It was indeed revealed that Odin created the Blake persona as a punishment for proud Thor.

I think originally he was a creation of Odin's. In the current version, it seems like they are saying that Blake is a separate person.

Odin created him, then he fell into limbo, then when Thor was in limbo after breaking the tapestry of destiny he came into the real world and helped Thor drag himself back.
Something that everyone should know: There is no objective good and very little objective bad in entertainment media. Of the objective bad, much of it is unintentionally hilarious which gives it entertainment value for some people. If you understood this then 99% of your petty arguments would never happen. Learn to realize that you have different tastes then the guy you are arguing with and move on. And before someone calls me a hypocrite, notice that I never go in calling something bad. I always go in to defend something.

JMS clearly had plans in mind for the whole Donald Blake/Thor duality thing and was going to put a new spin on it.
Will probably never see that now.

There's sorta an irony to the fact that Odin tried to teach Thor humility by making him become a doctor.

why? it's a profession that requires him to help others. that's the whole job description. plus he made him a crip, so there's that too.

Just alluding to the joke:
What's the difference between God and a medical school graduate?
God doesn't think he's a doctor.
