I used to play that when I was a teenager. That's funny.

To put in other terms:
Avengers = Spider-Man movie
Secret Avengers = Spider-Man 2
New Avengers = Spider-Man 3

Not the whole 'They should be called the Defenders or Champions' argument! Is it still 2005?

For the first time, it actually holds water. New Avengers Volume 1 started out with Captain America and Iron Man. Now that both of them and Thor are on separate teams, what truly is the point of the current New Avengers?

I dunno, but does it need a point?

I suppose not in terms of sales. But this is truly Bendis's weakest book. It's like all the thought and care went into Ultimate Spider-Man, Avengers & Powers. And all he has left over is being dropped into this book,

Starlord's Fashionably Late Review of
The New Avengers #1
I didn't think this was any worse than anything else Mr. Bendis has ever written. For those who are shocked, I have to ask... why? Sure this isn't a dense read like S.H.I.E.L.D. or something S.H.I.E.L.D. like, but he never was. I've always said BM is as easy to read as Dr. Suess. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing, either.
My issue here is where the story is going. Although it was great to see Brother Voodoo who really deserves much more see time in the Marvel Universe, I don't get why these particular Avengers are going to deal with these big bad supers and not a more street level threat which seems to me a bit more logical. Not sure what I think of Thing as an Avenger, but I'm dissapointed in it either. Spidey, Iron Fist and Ben Grimm together could be a lot of fun.
The art is nothing more than fantastic! Wasn't a bad panel in the bunch. And I did chuckle out loud when Steve told Luke to pick whoever he wanted but not Iron Man or Thor.
Story: 4
Art: 9
My Score: 5

I hope to post my review for this and SHIELD #2 tonight or tomorrow. My mom is in the hospital, complications from a surgery a couple of years ago have got her with a distended intestine in a herniated something or another. She is going in to surgery today.
She has been sick for the better part of two weeks now, she got food poisoning and the activity in her stomach caused it to enter the herniated place. anyhow she will be under the knife for about 6 hours today.
Between her being out of commission and now in the hospital since Friday, my already hectic life is even more so. Fortunately, Morgan's social calendar is blank this week, so that will be one less worry. Friday was lots of fun.
Anyhow, with the new store opening this week, a slight remodel in my store and the other two stores closing their doors next week, the influx of stock and relentless ebay means I may not be around much this week. I will get to this week's pig tonight and knock out Bullet as soon as possible, but family is a little more important right now.

Good luck to you and and the 4thfamily, Lee.

Just because I don't know how to spell the language of some tiny African nation doesn't mean that I'm wrong in thinking that your attitude towards women is 100% wrong. Obviously, you're some skinny, single nerd living on the East Coast who probably derives value in life from wrestling matches, hoping that Wolverine gets to sleep with teenagers and engaging in casual drug use. You're literally the worst thing to happen to comics since Stan Lee.
