Page 6/8. It's not my favorite, but it's a pretty clean page.

Here's a pinup I did for Greg based on his character Tableau. I don't know if I did the character "right," but it was a fun piece to draw. I think it came out well. :)

Great job with the last two. Panel two with the spidey sense is very damn good but I think the first panel of Spidey hitting the thug can be better. I think having the thug mostly off-panel hinders it and I think you should maybe tilt the action around, could give it a more dynamic feel. Or maybe have the action spill out of the panel, and but panel 2 and 3 lower to compliment it.

There is only one Spider-Girl, and her name is May "Mayday" Parker!

Here's a pinup of the classic Batgirl, Barbara Gordon.

Not being very familiar with the character, I was shocked to learn that she carried some kind of Bat-purse. What the hell?!

I generally try to avoid cheesecake when I can, but this one was too enticing an opportunity to pass up.

Good thing you didn't pass it up. It's rather good cheesecake! :D

In preparation for a marker study, here's a simple line drawing of Mary Jane.

I took the Prismacolor markers for a spin. I used Warm Grey 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50% on this one. For an early attempt, it's not bad. Blending colors is tricky, and I don't quite have the hang of it yet.

I don't do this often, but since things have been slow going lately, I decided to post some prelim work. (Apologies for the messy cleanups, my eyes have been burning all day!)

Image

Anybody that knows me is aware that I have a NOTORIOUSLY poor memory, so when I leave a piece partway through the penciling stage, I often need to make notes to indicate intended elements. This piece is a good example of that -- there are notes calling out virtually every element that I'll need to add later to the piece.

For those that can't quite make the pencils and/or notes out, the piece as it currently stands will have Spider-Girl (without the mask, of course) sitting on some rocks under a cherry blossom tree by a lake in Central Park. There will be blossom petals blowing in the near background, with trees across the lake and some indication of the skyline in the far background. I don't know yet how I'm going to approach the lighting, but this one is likely going to get a marker treatment.

Subject-wise? I'm sad to see Spider-Girl go, so I figured a tribute of some sort is in order. I wasn't an early adopter of the title, but I grew to love this series more than any other book on the stands. This really was my favorite series by the time it was announced that it was going away for good.

Here are the breakdowns for my Spider-Girl tribute piece. It took me far too long to draw that top half, but I like they way it's coming along. The lake lacks definition because I'm going to render it with markers. I'm leaving the rock smooth and light for text later.

My Spider-Girl tribute is done. I've decided not to finish this with markers, because I like it the way it is. Besides, somebody promised me a colored version, and I'm holding him to that one.

I tweaked the jawline and eyebrow to fix the problems from the breakdowns.

EDIT: Okay, it's now updated to add a small revision. I'm ashamed to have even made that mistake in the first place. :P
