The Man movie, the chick flick, and the one that actually looks interesting. That's about right...

:smt011 at the public. The only thing that will suck more is if Vampires Suck makes more money than Scott Pilgrim.

Yeah, as I pointed out in other threads those other two films had double the screenings to SP.

I don't see how this is a negative.

One movie stars a bunch of the biggest guys of the last 30 years in a throwback to old school action movies that aren't afraid of violence and cursing.

One movie stars one of the biggest movie stars of all time, along with a bunch of fairly well known people in supporting roles, and is based off a book that the Oprah crowd turned into a #1 best seller when it came out.

The last movie is based off of an indy comic series most people haven't heard of, is aimed at a very specific group of people, has no major stars, and is directed by a guy who's only done other smaller cult hits and a British TV show.

There's a reason those other two movies have far more screens and were projected to win the weekend ahead of Scott Pilgrim. It's hardly a sign of the end of the world or anything.

That's a bit misleading. The Other Guys should also be in there ahead of Scott Pilgrim. :P

1. The Expendables $13.2M
2. Eat Pray Love $8.5M
3. The Other Guys $5.6M
4. Scott Pilgrim $4.5M

I hope Pilgrim is at least profitable. It's a hard sell of a movie, but I'm looking forward to seeing it. I don't plan to see the other two.

It doesn't matter how much any movie makes unless it's part of a franchise!

Add to it that it's a Julia Roberts chick flick.

With its budget, that is a disastrous opening for Scott Pilgrim

Then again. who would think otherwise given the star has never carried a movie?
