NCAA Football 2008 Season Thread

Postby rdrsfn82 » Thu Jul 24, 2008 2:36 pm

We are pretty close to that time, and a certain Vols fan asked for the thread to exist.

I'm currently one game against rival UNLV from playing for the national Championship in NCAA '09, and it's getting me ready for the season to start.

I can't wait to see Ohio St lose the "national championship" game again while some more qualified team crushes someone in a the Rose Bowl or whatever and the people still try to make a case for why we don't need a playoff.

I'm foaming at the mouth for football.
Do you have NCAA09 for 360 or PS3? Is it any good?

The VOLS open the season on Labor Day at UCLA and I think we'll win by a couple of touchdowns.

PS3 and it is awesome. The recruiting is insanely detailed, but I like it. As for the gameplay, it's as good as ever and it's a challenge to handle big teams with my weak ass Nevada, which is awesome. I tried playing Georgia (99 in every category to start off!) in my first game of my first season and lost by a couple scores, but now in my second year I was able to beat Ohio St in OT. If you generally like the games you should pick it up. Also there are online multiplayer dynasties. I haven't checked that out yet, but in a few weeks some friends and I should be doing that.

As for the Vols and UCLA, I wouldn't be shocked by any outcome of that game. I think it has a chance to be really good and I think UCLA might have a shot at winning.

They may have this year -- hence the #1 Recruiting Class.

I'm going to get the game tonight then!
UCLA has no chance. Aren't they using their 3rd string qb?

I love how they rank recruiting classes, but never follow up. Most of the time these 'amazing" classes end up not nearly as good as some schools who had "disappointing" ones. You can't really judge them fairly for 3 years or so most of the time.

But only 2 or 3 of those dudes will make it. The rest will either be arrested, kicked off the team, or investigated by the NCAA for taking money from used-car dealing boosters. 8)

Yeah, but he's been in charge for like two months already and seems to be playing well. Like I said I wouldn't be shocked by any out come. I could see one team destroying the other or it being a close game or anything in between.

Ugh! I wish the NCAA didn't have such a hard-on to crush my dreams of another National Championship.

I'm not a fan either. They exploit the kids, but the kids don't take their education or following the law seriously enough.

That's true -- I graduated from Florida State a few years ago so I know all about that.
