Can anyone remember Fanboy Rampage? Man that blog was hella funny.

Basically the purpose of this thread was to remember Newsarama. Now for those who weren't around back then, it's safe to say that Newsarama had a certain.. reputation. It was known to be a haven for fanboys and nerds complaining about continuity.

Do you think it deserved that reputation? And what board do you think fits that rep now.

Honestly, all the boards I used to get on are ghost towns now, with this being the only exception.

Newsarama will always hold a special place in my heart. A small part of me wishes that one day we'd all return there in one final blaze of glory.

It did. But mostly for the News forum. Talk@ was fine.

I think CBR has the bad rep now.

Does CBR have a bad rep? It's pretty much the major online news comic site still going. Newsarama is obviously dead.

The forum, I think. I dunno though. This is the only place I frequent outside of OHG. I check in at Benbo every now and then but rarely post.

I held on to the 'Rama until recently...place is not what it once was.

Talk@ was cool, it had a few continuity obsessed posters but not many. The conversations on there were good, much like a lot that goes on over here. Which is understandable seeing as how this was the new promised land from the great exodus.

Yeah I wonder if this forum has the same reputation.

Even the Bendis Board seems to have quietened down a lot IMO, maybe I just remember it being much busier than it was.

I doubt it.

While our website is definitely growing, I don't think our board gets that much notice. We don't talk about comics as much as others do.

I think talking about comics is a massive problem for most boards. The Benbos comic discussion has massively died. CBR seems the last major board.

Our board is more of a community first and a comic board second.

Part of it is because of the rise of the discount comic websites. It's a lot cheaper to go there for your comics, but at the same time, there's a delay in getting your comics which directly conflicts with the internet mentality of getting your information as soon as possible.

It deserved it, but at the time that was really one site nearly everyone went to. After they sold it to those idiots and it got all shitty and lame, everyone scattered and I think a lot just stopped posting online completely.

When you have THAT many people posting somewhere every day, you're gonna get huge discussions about anything.

I think we deserved the reputation of having very negative members. We were definitely the have for b*tchers and moaners, as they would have been banned from many of the other big comic book boards. Just a lot of cruelty all around, really. But it was enjoyable because there were a lot of members, and a lot of really fun threads.

All forums have their own set of problems but Imaginova seemed down right determined to drive most posters off.
