I read the first two issues over the weekend and while I usually like Millar, this is far from his best work. You can tell he's way more concerned with making a movie than a comic book.

Even McNiven's art is disappointing. Dexter Vines and Morry Hollowell are desperately missed, now I'm thinking they were possibly more responsible for McNiven's success than he was.

Yeah, I agree it's not his best work, but it's still fun. I just like the stupid slogans he puts on the cover of his Millarworld stuff.

McNiven's art reached a peak with Old Man Logan, it'll be hard to ever reach those heights again. I actually think Yu would be a better fit for this story, and McNiven should do Superior.

Kick Ass was fun, this is just kind of annoying and uninspired.

Doesn't mean he shouldn't try. Hopefully this is a one time break from working with his regular collaborators.

I assume he is trying here. I mean it's taking him long enough!

His stuff should just be automatically solicited as bi-monthly.

As much as I'd love to throw my money away, I'm not playing this week. Just chalk me up as a 0 when working out the score plz

Yeah, but I doubt it'll make it that much higher so might as well leave it in.

Mark Millar books are the only creator-owned (quasi)Indie books that pretentious hipsters don't like, why is this? Is it because they actually sell?

Because if I wanted to read storyboards for a bad movie I'd watch the extras on my Stallone DVD's. Millar hasn't produced anything I've liked since the end of the second Ultimates and he's got this awful habit of writing one big 'awesome\radical' moment after another without stringing a decent plot between them. His flashy style stopped being interesting very quickly and he never worked out how to do anything else.
