Image Preview: Skullkickers #1Courtesy of Image Comics, here's an advance preview of Skullkickers #1, in stores on 09/22/2010!

SKULLKICKERS #1 CVR A & B
story JIM ZUBKAVICH
art CHRIS STEVENS, EDWIN HUANG & MISTY COATES
cover CHRIS STEVENS
32 PAGES / FC
$2.99
"ONE THOUSAND OPAS AND A DEAD BODY"
No one knows where these two warriors came from. The only thing that's clear is that they're two of the most ornery, trouble-making $%@# that have ever lived.

SKULLKICKERS is a fantasy action-comedy: Two mercenaries are entangled in a high-class assassination plot and nothing—werewolves, skeletons or black magic—will stop them from getting paid. If you love tabletop fantasy RPGs or movies like Army of Darkness, SKULLKICKERS is waiting for you!

I'll probably buy this so I can sell it on ebay after bleedingcool hypes it up and drives up the price.

I didn't expect this to live up to the hype, but this definitely did. It was a fun fantasy romp, with two individual characters you can definitely like. I should have remembered I liked the original Popgun stories, but its now added to my standing order.

I have it on order. I does not look like it will be the next Chew or Morning Glories.

With the big two scaring away punters left right and center, I can see this taking off, myself. People want different, be it an intelligent zombie ongoing, a detective chibopath, or two mercs in a fantasy land.
