Pretty art but this is like softcore porn. What's the point?

To make money off those who are married to a ball crushing woman, yet still want porn they may get a way with?

Coolness! 8)

With this, plus Red Sonja and Warlord of Mars, Dynamite will be the publisher that I buy the most books from.

Never in the 35 some-odd years that I've been buying comics has it NOT been Marvel or DC that had that honor. Crazy.

Some folks like the character of Vampirella and want to read about her.

Yes, she is a slutty looking character but so what? I guess muscle men in spandex are more your thing?

Sorry my viking brother, but the truth be told for we can face it, as Valhalla is our reward.

(I caught hell for a pre-order of the Moore Collectibles Vampirella, that came in while she was with me. Hel hath no fury like my ex. )

I hear that. My old lady didn't mind that I bought that when it came out but I can't have it on my bookshelf.
Vampi keeps my J.J.Sachs statue company in the closet in the "box of inapproprite things Rikk's wife doesn't want to look at on a daily basis".

Its sad but (according to Writer Eric Trauttman interviews) the only "softcore porn" is on the covers. She's covered up in the issues.

Seems like Dynamite have cocked up by aggravating the core fans by doing away with the interiors. And the "verging on pornograohic" covers are keeping away any people who normally follow Trautman.

The Campbell cover is just horrible compared to every other preview page.

I used to love Vampi in her Warren Creepy/Eerie days. The art AND story were incredible. Ever since then it seems the story has taken a huge backseat to the soft porn aspect of her body. The art above has such poor anatomy (her legs are impossibly long for instance) I'm guessing this new series with follow recent trends. Shame, as she could be an incredible character if only people would look under her flesh.

I think the problem is that all the sales come from the kind of demographic who prefer the naked flesh on display over any storyline or character development. Dynamite are not my favourite publishers, they flooded the market with multiple Green Hornet titles and managed to kill off very swiftly any interest I had in that character. The variant covers are also ridiculously overdone.
