i thought it was a great episode. I don't particularly care if the show is realistic either. I don't get a lot of "soapy" entertainment, per se, so Glee is an entertaining and silly soap with great music and some awesome characters (Sue Sylvester)

Yesterday, I read an article about this season, and there will be a Halloween episode with Rocky Horror Picture Show songs! :smt026 Eddie/Meatloaf and Brad/Barry Bostwick will guest star, and Emma will supposedly be singing "Touch-A Touch-A Touch Me".

And Finn will wear a mankini.

Diva Friction

Postby Nightfly » Tue Sep 28, 2010 12:32 pm

I've read there's been some friction on the set. Amber Riley (Mercedes) has been publicly complaining that Lea Michele is being a big diva lately. Really, Amber is the only one that'd have a right to notice, and in fairness, Lea has a right to be divaish cuz it really kinda is her show. Yes, it's an ensemble series, but I wasn't confused who the star of the pilot was - or which character the pilot was mainly about.
I guess if the friction gets too bad Amber may decide to leave the show, cuz I seriously doubt Lea is going anywhere.

yay, i really don't understand why amber is the only one with the right to notice.. sure lea's character is important but everyone of the rest of the cast are important as well. the show works because of the dynamic of the characters. some of the most impressive songs/acting came from people other then lea...

Lea will over sing and completely chew up a scene as opposed to some of the others who know how to properly balance a performance.

Well, in music (even as depicted on the show), chairs/spots/solos are challenged for. In my opinion only Amber could realistically challenge Lea for title of Diva of the show - if the title is attached to talent level.

Who do you think is as strong a singer as Amber & Lea? As powerful?
Even between those two... one was already a successful broadway actress while the other was previously most known for failing out of American Idol when auditioning (early in the process). I like Amber a lot, I think she might even have a shot (vs. Lea) -- that's why I said only she would have the right to notice. Nobody else in that cast (of the kids) could dream of stepping up to fill Michele's [singing] part, imo.

Chris Colfer, and arguably Matthew Morrison.

Ah, okay. I completely agree with you on that, I just was confused for a second. But yeah, Lea has charisma and skills to back up any sort of diva attitude she wants to have. And to be honest, while Amber is a talented singer, she just doesn't have what it takes as an actor to fill the leading role. It doesn't help that Mercedes isn't much of an interesting character to begin with.

Um charice is a better singer. And Jenna was on broadway as well. Chris is an amazing singer as well.

I agree about Morrison but totally disagree about Colfer (despite 'Defying Gravity' - though that's the best case someone could make in his favor).

Charice is really the only one in my opinion that could go toe to toe with Lea, but thats mostly because they have a similar style. Comparing Lea to Chris Colfer and Matthew Morrison is tough because they have such drastically different styles.

disagree on both counts. (already addressed Chris above -though I agree all three are amazing singers)
