I thought the art looked half finished. ANd the thought balloons just felt too needed.

Chris Claremont's writing is a step down from his usual X-Men Forever work. He takes a lot of (relative) risks in the main series, while this annual is a by-the-numbers Claremont tale. The saving grace of this comic is Sana Takeda. She is one hell of an artist and each page is a joy to look at. Claremont's work would lead to this issue getting a score within the mid to low 5's. Takeda's work bumps the score up to a....
