Well, my library emailed and said they don't do interlibrary loans for new books--current year--so catch me next month.

I know you guys haven't finished the book yet but I am interviewing Peter Clines this afternoon. Is there anything you guys would like me to ask? I'll try and cover what I can without the interview spoiling any major points so you guys can read it.

I was curious as to why the book is so hard to find, seems order only. Is it a small press thing and does this Permuted Press only do this style of book since they have the slogan "Enjoy the Apocalypse"?

Wondering if he ever thought about doing this as a comic book? Since books like walking dead and marvel zombies did so well and since it deals with zombies and super heroes it seems like it would fit right in.

And also, I'm only a few chapters in; but why call the zombies "Ex's" instead of zombies? Seems a bit odd to me since if anything like the walking dead happened, due to what everyone knows them as in pop culture; they would instantly be called zombies. So it comes off a bit inaccurate when writers use a new term for their zombies when the story is based in modern day earth or a version of it.?

If both those questions suck, or are answered by the book itself or whatever, no big deal. Just throwing something out there since I haven't gotten far in the book yet.

based on my brief discussions via e-mail with Peter so far he said he is a comics fan so i'll ask a few comic related questions...the others are also good too, I'll be sure to incorporate them...thanks

Hey, on the Nook, it is published through the Pub It program (which is a way for independent publishers and writers to publish things for the nook with out a wider distributor). How was that process? Is he seeing a bigger percentage of sales on that device versus the Kindle as a result? Was that his decision or his publisher/agent?

Also, for his information, the spacing is weird on the Nook, like it is double spaced like a manuscript as opposed to a published book - is this a side effect of using the program? Was he aware that it was formatted funny?

A lot of newer small presses are trying to go the e-commerce only route and aren't marketing themselves to bookstores at all.

Yea, figured it was something like that. Even at B&N they wouldn't order it in the store, I would have to go online and order to my home (so I just went through amazon) but seems like it makes the outreach hard. I guess it depends on the cost of putting the book out there. There are so many new fantasy publishers coming out now seems like it's a good time to take a chance in the genre (or maybe that makes it even rougher).

It's funny--for the other site I occasionally write reviews, I'll take on a digital-only comic book but won't take on digital-only prose fiction. I guess the amount of time it takes for one versus the other is the reason? :smt102

I can't get this book through the library.

It's not even in the L.A. Library system that I can see.
