I remember my mum telling me about the Death Star battle at the end and thinking it sounded amazing. That was the first I heard about it. One of my friends had some Star Wars toys and I didn't know what they were but based on the name I remember trying to imagine what it was about and coming up with something totally wrong but still awesome. Then I finally saw the first movie, which I rented from the local place and that was basically it - I was hooked. The wait (1 whole fucking week, which might as well be a million years when you're a kid) between Empire and Return was unbearable.

Shoot TIE Fighters Off Your House
THQ unveils a Star Wars augmented reality game for the iPhone.
November 4, 2010

Star Wars is going augmented reality. THQ is prepping Star Wars: Falcon Gunner for the iPhone, which projects incoming TIE Fighters over your current location, as viewed through the lens of your iDevice camera. You control the gun seat of Han Solo's famous Millennium Falcon, returning fire on the Empire's incoming ships.

THQ hasn't released too many details about Star Wars: Falcon Gunner just yet, but did produce a short video that shows the game in action. Check out a developer blasting TIEs out of the sky over Manhattan.

Now, I do have one concern here – although it's totally nerdy. But doesn't something like this break the narrative integrity of Star Wars? I mean, when are TIE Fighters ever going to attack Manhattan, much less your living room?

Regardless, Star Wars: Falcon Gunner is another promising, innovative title from THQ. The ability to control a web version of Trench Run with your iPhone was a neat trick. But if this works as well as it does in the video, this could be a very cool Star Wars experience.

and the unholy birth:

I think the scene still rocks and don't even care if he SCREAMED, "NOOOO!!!" It made the Prequel Trilogy for me damnit besides Palpatine's words. Not to mention that's the three unholy of all bastards together in one room: Palpatine, Vader, and Scorpius!!!

I will always have a place in my heart for the original trilogy.

Plus I share a birthday with george so that's cool too.
