I would place the "penultimate chapter" as more toward the end of an arc.

Zero wrote:Actually Jude it's really good. If you can be bothered to track down the first two issues in this story (#'s 6 & 7)it's a good book. The current arc is a bit gangstery, a bit wild westy and a bit vampire conspiracy-y. I can appreciate not liking it if you're not a fan of mature readers books but it's been Vertigo's best new title for some time. I'm looking forward to a discussion and I hate everything.

You lost your rep when you called the most whitebread comic I've read in months "nice" too many times.

Wow way to slip in a shot at me.

What I don't like about the concept is that it just feels like typical jump on the bandwagon Vampires are hot let's stick Vampires in an unusual setting with some other genres and make a hipster mixtape book. I could be wrong, so I will download those first two issues before I review it.

It was 'nice'. It was the definition of inoffensive niceness and pleasantitude. I'd probably have given it a shitty score if I wasn't a Superboy fan but I am so I didn't. I was also in a good mood when I read it right after this majestic little comic.

It's very 'hipster'ish. There's a few different artists and it's a collection of single page gags rather than a consistent story so it's pretty hit or miss. I liked most of it and the art is very much what you'd expect from DIY comics.

Some of it looks like the strip pictured here:

It seems that every book is a hipster book to you these days!

Ridiculous.

Books can't be hipsters. They're inanimate objects.

You just referred to American Vampire as a 'Hipster Mixtape Book'.
