Not only is there no opt-out lane for DUI checkpoints in NC, but if they see you turn around before getting to one they instantly chase you down and pull you over.

And if body scanning and patting people down prevents my plane from blowing up I'm all for it. You would be an idiot not to be. Think people. Why would TSA invent something that costs a lot of time and money for absolutely no reason? They have something to lose and absolutely nothing to gain by it.

1 - as much as it annoys me to say this: flying is not a right that can be, as with driving, revoked at the government's discretion, and these policies are advertised and announced so that people can choose not to fly, or at the very least, not fly out of those airports
2 - didn't I read a while back where women were using their children to hide bombs past checkpoints?

Also, how does an impatient father taking his son's shirt off equal "TSA Strip Searches Young Boy"? The title is intentionally misleading and inflammatory as "strip searching" implies something much worse to the average person.

There are plenty of reasons. The TSA head said we need to all learn our role. This is part of it. Accept you will be groped, humiliated, and abused in the name of security and there is nothing you can do about it. I guess if someone blows up a train or bus they will be next to have humiliation and sexual abuse before boarding?

You are just cowardly IMO if you submissively accept that level of abuse. :smt102

Shit's gonna hit the fan when someone punches a TSA agent, which I don't think is that far off. With the anit-government sentiment thats been brewing lately coupled with these extremely invasive searches and the general dismal experience of going through security, its only a matter of time before people push back.

Just to ask, how is this any different than mandatory check-points along federal highways?

IMO, there is a contextual difference

on a highway, travelers are already in their way. For the most part they are settled in and relaxed, or at the very least resigned to being in the car for X number of hours. And those check points are manned by trained police personnel

at an airport, travelers are not yet "on the way" and are stressed out about timing, kids, suitcases, etc then to have to stop and be searched or have naked pictures taken of them by poorly trained former KFC employees is just one more thing to get in the way.

EDIT - oh and there is the whole looking in my car =/= fondling my prostate aspect too

Imagine standing there while some lowlife is squeezing your wife/daughters breasts and then groping on her vagina all so you can fly to your families for Turkey day. Just a regular dude and his family with no reason to suspect them of anything.

from what I have read the "pat downers" are gender specific, but even then it is still disconcerting

but - and I am just playing DA here - from what I have read, most of the bad guys we've been told about have been dressed as regular people so as to look like there is no reason to suspect them.
