The main character so reminds me of an old friend of mine who taught English in Japan for a few years. As a tall blond gaijin he left a trail of heartbreak behind him, sometimes in much the same way as Alan does here for the same cultural differences.

I've checked and re-checked but next week is one of those pre-holiday weeks where I don't see anything I'd want to pick, Morning Glories being one of the only things I have any interest in and it's the last issue of the first arc. But then, there's a lot of Marvel & DC books I wouldn't even consider picking. I'm surprised you don't cut him a deal to get the Larfleeze (sp?) Christmas Special in.

Eh, I'd rather enjoy my Christmas Special in peace without all the Johns haters getting their kicks in. I will probably never pick a Johns book for the Review Group for that reason.

Besides, it's the Dex-Starr Valentine's Special I'm looking forward to. My Dexstar just tore up my copy of Chaos War #4 last night, so I'm curious to see how he'd treat his namesake.

I may be confusing Dex Starr with Larfleeze...what's a Larfleeze?

Orange Lantern that looks like a cross between Gonzo and a Razorback. He's greedy, exists as mainly a source of comedy nowadays and is rather one-dimensional, hence Zechs' love of the character.

Dex-Starr is the Red Lantern rage cat for whom Darcie insists my cat is not named after, despite being the same color and temperment.

Thanks for the encouragement!

So I guess the real question becomes, who wants to set off Principle War: Round 2?

Worth sacrificing a pick later for another round of this hilarity?

No principles, he's just a fucking terrible character.

Mice Templar Vol. 3 #1 comes out next week too. I think that'd be a solid pick as Glass said that it's supposed to be a good jumping on point.

Says the Johns hater. :P Besides, I'm apperantly a Johns "fan-wank" as someone called me not too long ago just for generally liking his stuff.

Besides, I like to expand my horizons with my picks, the whopping one of them that I've had.

I want to trade weeks with GHERU so I can pick the final issue of X-Men Forever. Unless RU is going to do the right thing and pick that book himself.

If you anticipate personal butthurt as a result people ripping his comics, you more than generally like his stuff. :P

Eh, even I'll admit that his writing has fallen off lately. Right now, his only title that I'm enjoying consistently is Flash. GL has been treading water on both art and story and Brightest Day doesn't catch my interest anymore. Historically, however, I've been a fan of his work. Blame Chappy for that. He's the one who got me into JSA.

However, I'll admit to not wanting people to torpedo a book just because a writer or artist is attached. It seems like a waste of a pick if I know that half the group will shoot it down on sight. I'd rather go for a pick that people would enjoy than one that people would loathe.
