Everybody I know locally who has young kids lost their power last night. My best friend just had a baby, and they lost their power around 10 last night. They've also got two toddlers. His sister, who has a toddler of her own lost power around 8 or 9 amd it hasn't been restored.
We haven't been hit with snow (yet...it just started falling), but we got slammed with ice. I think I could get my jeep out of the driveway with the assistance of gravity. But there's no way I'd be getting back up the driveway.
Yeah, my mom came home telling me just how insane it is outside. Some woman was trying to get her kid on the bus to school and was nearly slipping trying to get her to the bus and my mom told her to just stay home with the kid, it wasn't that big of a deal to deal with the potential of falling and getting hurt.
I just may cancel my meeting for today.
I truly hope your friends get their power back soon. Especially having babies and toddlers involved. That's just terrifying.
