Creator returns to fan-favourite character.

DC has announced that Dan Jurgens is to return to his writing and pencilling duties on Booster Gold with May's #44, a Flashpoint tie-in. The character looks set to play an integral part in this year's big crossover, and Jurgens has been co-ordinating with Geoff Johns on the project.

There is no news as yet on what the current team of Keith Giffen, JM DeMatteis and Chris Batista will do next.

Picking up from Time Masters.

This is decent news, Jurgens is of course great on Booster, but then so are Giffen and DeMatteis.

Yeah I do not know how I feel about this. I love both creators run on the book but the added level humor that Giffen and DeMatteis have injected into the book I do not want to see go away. I know some people may have found the banter between Booster and his sister to be annoying but I just love it.

Then again Jurgens, though at times can be a pretty dull writer, but he quality through and through, and I did enjoy his previous Booster run.

I guess at the end of the day, at least Booster is still around and D.C. has been ensuring it has a good creative team when one is rotated in.

Yeah, this is both good and bad for me as well. Jurgens is, of course, great with the character but I will miss Giffen and DeMatteis.

I'll mirror everyone elses comments. I really liked Jurgens Booster but I also really enjoyed Giffen and DeMatteis's Booster Gold as well.

Maybe DeMatteis can join Giffen on Doom Patrol. I enjoy the book but something seems off the last couple of issues.

But D.C. whatever you do, make sure you keep Chris Batista happy. He's a great artist.

EDIT: Argh, got Doom Patrol on the mind.

I liked what Jurgens was doing on this book, but I think the current team has been even better. Not really bad news, but I would have preferred keeping the current team on there.

I might start picking it up then. I've really enjoyed Vanishing Point.

I thought aspects of Vanishing Point were good but some were kind of meh. The Professor Zoom appearance and Time Breakers (apart from Black Beetle) stories seemed kind of tacked on. I

Big time Booster Gold

And constantly amazed that he is so much a better character when not written by his 'creator'.

Johns run was excellent.
Jurgens run was so so with me contemplating dropping it.
I didn't drop it though because word came in about Keith & JM.
Giffen/Dematteis run has been a blast!
And now it's going back to Dan. I feel like I should be happy - instead I'm concerned and cautious. :-(
