I will say though, having never read Manga before, I was confused as all fuck for the first twenty pages or so before I figured out it read right to left.

It's even worse with the books, the spine is on the wrong side and everything!

Takes a while to get used to it, but it's like second nature once you get it.

Yeah, but when you switch back to reading Western comics, you read them backwards!

So I've finished Vol. 4 of this, and it's getting really good. It's not bad to read on the Kindle at all, though the text is a bit small in double page spreads (which there are very few of).

Obviously, you're some skinny, single nerd living on the East Coast who probably derives value in life from wrestling matches, hoping that Wolverine gets to sleep with teenagers and engaging in casual drug use. You're literally the worst thing to happen to comics since Stan Lee.

Is this super decompressed or something though? It feels like it's moving towards some kind of climax, but there's like 18 volumes to go. Does it go into other stories or is the Friend plot the main thing?

Saying would be telling, but I would definitely not call it decompressed.

Yeah I don't want spoilers. I was just curious.

How did you get it on a Kindle, Jude? Did you upload a PDF version?

I used a program called Mangle which takes jpegs and formats them for a Kindle complete with metadata and memory of the last page you were on. It's pretty cool.

Make sure you drag the images into it from the folder rather than hitting "import" in the program - import takes them in out of order and then you have to sort them yourself. Dragging them from a folder keeps them in the order they are in the folder.

Finished Volume 12 of this, in which Friend is shot and it's revealed who he is, if of course it really is him. I'm really impressed with how this story keeps building on itself, creating new mysteries every time it reveals old ones. It reminds me of Lost, except it doesn't just throw 90% of the mysteries out with no plan of ever explaining them. Great stuff. I have the rest on the computer at work - may have to download em again so I can keep reading right now! I can't put this series down.

It's epic.
I read it all on my computer a year or two ago. I've been picking up the books as they release anyway, though, just because it's so awesome.
