Yeah, and a script by Roald Dahl. To be honest, I don't know if I loathe it or not. It has probably been 20 years since I've last seen it. I do like Singin' in the Rain. But that's because there's some effort made to place the musical numbers in a somewhat plausible context. |

I've never seen that. Of course, Willy Wonka is a musical and you can't possibly hate Gene Wilder's performance in that, it's genius! |

I don't loathe them. I love The Sound of Music, Music Man, Willy Wonka, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserable, Jesus Christ Superstar, An American in Paris, Singin' In the Rain, White Christmas, Disney movies... I have never seen Rent, but the song or two I have heard made me want to kill the people involved. |

Singin in the Rain is one of my favorite movies. It's a little hokey but the dance numbers are fantastic. |

Touche. |

Yeah, I saw most of the dance numbers repeatedly in film school actually, but they were isolated from the rest of the movie. |

See that plus your dubious taste in music was why I was willing to give you the free pass on Rent. |
