Well I see it as he originally went with Rachel because he has heartbroken by Quinn, and Rachel was a rebound girl. Rachel then proceeds to cheat on him not once but twice, and breaks his heart event more than Quinn did. He has made his peace with Puck now, Quinn has grown up and Finn has forgiven her, and it has been obvious all along that they have both still had feelings for one another. The person I feel bad for is Sam because he is just an innocent bystander in all this mess. Hell this is what I remember highschool being like though, we all jumped around from relationship to relationship all the time, so to me it makes sense.

I've kind of given up on this show now. We just seemed to lose our enthusiasm, which is sad considering how into it we were before. I think Ryan Murphy has kind of dropped the ball with it, to be honest.

Obviously this question has little to do with the actual show, but how did Jessalyn Gilsig get a starring credit for season two? She cannot have been in more than four episodes so far this season.

My wife said the same thing happened with Nip/Tuck. I didn't watch that show, but she said it fell apart as the characters kept being inconsistent and they kept resetting the status quo without anyone learning anything.

Glee certainly seems to be going down that same path.
