One thing I don't get though, did I miss a part? Why has the earth gone to shit with all this darkness and the forest closed off? I've been picking up this series and I'm totally lost as to wtf happened between the last 2 issues. |

Um yeah, because it was in your cache. Hence "in your cache" in my post, hoping to avoid the 1000th iteration of the "Well, I can see it" response. But whatevs, no big deal. I've long since forgotten what it was in reference to. |

The Dysart run got so bad it's unmemorable, but although I think it ended sort of in the middle of something I don't remember anything about him dying. I think he was separated from Alec Holland though. In fact, the Dysart run was so bad it's the reason I never read a page of Unknown Soldier. Loved those painted Eric Powell covers though. |

If the people that haven't been reading of Brightest Day expect accessibility, then this book really isn't for them as they'll be lost. Then there's me and I have been (somehow) getting through this book for the past 22 issues. I have no idea what the hell was happening and I regret wasting my time with it if THIS is the payoff we're getting. For some reason between the ending of #22 and the beginning of #23 the world has gone to hell out of the blue, the Star City forest is shield by something and Johns seems to have remembered that Captain Boomerang was a part of this story too. And all this foreboding finally revealed what this entire series was leading up to: the triumphant, long awaited return of none other than Swamp-Thing! Wait, what? I'm either eBay'ing the complete series or offering to sell it on here to some poor masochist that wants to punish himself. I can't even muster the words to express how disappointed I am with this book after the entire thing led to Swamp-Thing of all characters being brought back. Not to say I hate the Swamp-Thing character, but should this character REALLY have a place in a story like this? On the upside, Reis's art is good. Story: 1 Art: 8 Overall: 2 |
