Ellisbolts worked because it was something different and because Ellis is Ellis.

This feels like Parker is trying to do Ellisbolts with the sensibilities of the classic Busiek run but by trying to be both it's as good as neither.

More than anything for me about this is that I'm just bored with all of the leftover Initiative plotlines.

I thought Ellis was actually a horrible run. One of the few comics I have ever actually dropped and not cared about being a completist over.

This was a fun issue. Satana's reaction to the Man-Thing was interesting and it should be fun to see where this strange relationship goes. I also liked how the interviews were interspersed with the scenes featuring Gothenvald Castle, with the latter being particularly fun. Undead and other supernatural German things in a castle that disappeared from Earth's plane of existence in 1911? What a great concept. :)

Yeah I dropped it too. IMO, the concept of government controlled superhero teams of villains was played out about five minutes after someone said "I have an idea... what if we had a government controlled superhero team of villains?"

I remember reading it and eBaying it, but it wasn't A-level Ellis...I thought he wrote a pretty good Norman Osborn, didn't he?

Why does Bucky get a super-cyborg arm and Walker practically gets a freakin' hook-hand by comparison? :smt013

He refused it. He'd rather be like that than become like Nuke (who crippled him)

Parker.

The rationale was that he see's so much of himself in Nuke and he's scared that becoming part cyborg will drive him over the edge into becoming an insane patriot like Nuke was.

No doubt it's stupid, but I'm expecting him to get his limbs back somehow.
