Ultimate Comics: Ultimates by Jonathan Hickman & Esad Ribic &

Ultimate Comics X-Men by Nick Spencer & Paco Medina.

UCU Pros: Written by Hickman (the writer of Secret Warriors), art by Esad Ribic,

UCU Cons: Written by Hickman (the writer of S.H.I.E.L.D.), stars Nick Fury.

UCU undecided factors: Written by Hickman (the writer of FF), stars Thor(Millar's interesting version or Loeb's Marvel universe knockoff?), Spider-Woman & Hulk plus others to be named but no Captain America.

UCX Pros: written by St. Spencer (writer of T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents & Morning Glories), stars Bobby Drake, Johnny Storm & Kitty Pryde

UCU Cons: Stars Jean Grey & Jimmy Hudson (from Loeb's abomination).

UCU undecided factors: Days of Future Past scenario, the government now allows citizens to shoot mutants on sight, art by Paco Medina (who seems too cartoony for the horrific scenario mentioned above).

Opinions?

Most people on here dismissed Ultimate X out of hand without reading it, it's a solid book, with fantastic art and some interesting new characters.

No, they dismissed it after reading it because it's a crappy book with fantastic art and the most boring god-awful cliches ever written.

Disagree.

But I am looking forward to Spencer's take, I'm sure it will be very good.

I thought you said "Ultimate Titties." I'm sorely disappointed.

If they aren't too mired in continuity/ultimatum garbage, these books could actually all be good for the first time in years.

I'm not a HUGE fan of Nick Spencer, but I'm definitely curious to see what he can do with the UXM. I always felt that was a book made up of wasted potential.
