If not Tommas will just sit next to him.

Jey fished a bucket out of the wreckage and it sits in front of him, full of fish guts as he cleans and de-bones some of today's catch. You're not sure why he's keeping the guts; maybe to use as bait later to catch more fish. Jey's on the far end of the flotilla, away from the rest of the group, only interacting with them to get more fish to clean. He's eaten very little, assumedly holding off for everyone else.

He gives you a half-smile, points up at your Dancing Lights and nods as if to say, "Job well done," then goes back to his work. Roll d20 then add your CHA bonus to see exactly how well he likes you, +5 bonus for being nice. Also know that, just because he doesn't speak Common, doesn't mean he can't speak ANY language. Has anyone tried something else?

Tommas nods and smiles to Jey about the dancing lights. It's strange that an islander was on the boat Tommas thought; he seems out of place. Obviously he had to talk to someone to get a ticket. May be he does know some form of language that Tommas knows. He will try to speak to him in Sylvan first slowly to test the waters and to show he is trying to communicate in a different language, but if he doesn't understand he will try a few phrases from Common from other other realms he has lived in throughout time, Draconic, and Elven.

Pinky puts on a life vest. He looks around trying to figure out who needs the others. He walks up to Thomas and Jey first and asks them. Having heard Thomas trying to find a language that Jey speaks he tries the ones he knows. (common, goblin, halfling). "Want a vest of life? I made them myself!" While making a great show of trying to give one to him.

Tommas will take one and set it in his backpack. Might as well have that float since it is attached to him already.

"Thanks"

He thinks he heard Goblin and some other language, only knowing 1 or two words from Goblin he is intrigued why this man knows such languages. He beams a smile to him.

"You know a few languages. Very good. Most hardly know only their own if that. How did you come to learn these?"
"Is he on our side?" "Yep" "Then why is he spying on us?" "Don't ask"

Pinky smiles at Thomas and tells him some of his story.

"I was born and raised on the road. I never really had anywhere that I could call home. For as long as I can remember I was forced to travel. Constantly moving, never making friend. I honestly couldn’t tell you of a single time while I was with his parent that he spent more than a week at one spot. I loved his parents as a young child though as I grew older he became to resent them. Though in the end I learned a lot about different people and their ways."

She tells you to get lost and continues writing in a large, square-bound book which somehow (along with her writing supplies) survived the Aria's destruction. It's evident by the cold shoulder that she doesn't want anything to do with you. (-10 to any CHA checks you might make against her.) It book looks old, though. Are you going to get close enough to see what she's writing?

I'll move closer to see what she's writing... "Look, I'm not asking you to hate me less. I'm just saying, maybe you could hate Weasel more. Did I ever tell you about how I cracked open the egg of doom (tm) and kick started the apocalypse?"

"See that trenchcoat? The fool tries to turn my minions against me, but I've already warned them to mistrust him." The Weasel and his evil garments laugh to themselves.

The moment you get too close, Slug stands up, hides the book under her arm, and puts a hand in your face, glaring. She growls, "I told you to get lost. So get lost."

CORE STORY 2.2 DARK WATER

After surviving the Aria's destruction, our heroes have rallied to survive, rescued other passengers, searched the debris, and fashioned a makeshift flotilla of wooden life rafts for protection. They have devised a means of creating drinkable water, supplied the group with food and a number of welcome life vests, and there may yet be a sail.

Tommas has been casting Dancing Lights into the sky throughout the night, attempting to signal any ships in the area. As the new morning breaks, a full day after the Aria's demise, a black spot appears on the horizon, moving ever forward in your direction.

As time passes and the ship moves nearer, it becomes clear that this vessel was built for speed, its square sails open full on approach. A Schooner by type rather than base description, five imposing cannons on each side, the Dark Water finds you. And she's flying the Skull & Crossbones.

The Weasel is standing quietly alone with only his Blanket and his Trenchcoat, pondering his course of action. He has achieved dominance over this tiny vessel, and it will surely be his first step towards dominance over the universe. But first, they must find land. "Trenchcoat, Blanket... it is time that you work together. We must come up with a plan to reach land. As a born leader, I know that it is important that I myself do as little work as possible. Therefore, I must delegate. We must see if any of my minions has a compass and the ability to use one. We must gather makeshift oars, and assign weak-minded but able bodied minions to operate them. Do either of you have any other ideas?"
