Forgive the shittiness of the drawing. I just wanted to take a shot at this since I really do believe the Superman costume that DC unveiled is one of the worst designs I have seen for Superman.

I actually wanted the blue of the costume to be very dark, almost black, with the blue really only showing up on highlights. Obviously difficult to do with a ballpoint pen though.

Hope you guys like it. I kept some of the Jim Lee elements, and I thought the suit could work as a solar cell suit. So the red lines you see won't always be there. They show up basically for dramatic effect and when Supes is really exerting a lot of energy.

I think the movie design looks better without the cape. I saw the new pics and the suit itself looks ok as it has been 'modernized'. It looks odd with the cape, however.

I see why no one knows Superman's secret identity even though he doesn't wear a mask.....you cant stop staring at his cod piece long enough to get a good description of his face! Yeesh! Just when I think Their going to stop putting a superhero's underwear on the out side, they start using body paint as a costume.

This is pretty sweet. I liked the first one and the second one I can see them doing something like that in the Superman series.

Here's another redesign I did a while ago.

I would make the jacket removable with similar red lines for the black suit underneath.
