Haven't seen that. How expansive are the backdrops in that? Do they do things on par with Endor, Kashyyk or Felucia?
I hope that when it comes out, we get some good aliens as leads (or at least seconds)...
Sanctuary is a shitty show, so don't think I'm singing its praises. But they've created entire fuckin' cities and underground realms and volcanoes and shit. I mean, that show just started off as a home-brew webseries, Sd. From before they even got picked up by Sci-Fi, they've had to do more with less.
That's simply the reality of TV science fiction, and it always has been. CGI makes that equation easier to solve than ever before, but at the same time, TV isn't the best place to perfectly render every seed pod on Felucia every single week.
And shit man, let's be real; Endor was a real place, and Kashyyk could just as easily have been filmed in a real place. The only thing otherworldly about either of those places were the inhabitants.
If Lucas wants to do a weekly version of Avatar, that technology is never gonna be there. But if he wants to put on a decent show with great looking CGI backdrops and FX, people are already doing that.
