Yeah the fact that she spent the evening in a funeral pyre and walked out with three dragons was normal.

Actually, they spent a great deal of time foreshadowing what happened. Even though I haven't read the books, I expected her unharmed and the eggs to hatch.

The most obvious clue, to me, was during the Golden Crown scene when she said the real dragon would never burn.

Yarp. Plus the boiling water scene earlier and the way she reached into the fire without being burned. I mean, they were pretty clearly doing some big stuff with that. Plus they kept focusing on the eggs. Before the episode last night my wife and I both agreed the eggs (or at least one egg) would hatch as the final scene.

They stared foreshadowing in the first episode when her hand maidens told her the bath water was too hot and she just goes in and doesn't seem to notice, plus the hot dragon egg scene where she was not burned.

mrorangesoda wrote:What's with people wanting things set up so much? The Greyjoy's failed rebellion is mentioned in the first book and Catelyn warns Rob against sending Theon away in the second. Everything else comes pretty organically after that.

If anything, the show is doing so much set up that in many cases they telegraph really interesting developments (i.e. Littlefinger's big long monologue about his motivations the episode before the big confrontation)

I mostly agree but I can see the wisdom in the case of Theon.

I agree.

The dragons killed it for me. Totally unrelatable. There's no dragons in the real world.. they should've kept it more grounded.

Literally what I thought though. The show has been very good at keeping the show very natural and dark. Now dragons. They potentially ruin a great show for me.

There's been giant walking monsters that turn people into zombies since the first episode. :smt017

And there were dragon skulls a few weeks ago.

See the White Walkers I don't mind. They're pretty cool. They're obviously a bit out there, but they haven't been seen really.

These dragons spell trouble for me, especially in a low budget show. They conjure up memories of shitty fantasy novels and stories. Not really the type of thing for me.

Also nothing happened.

The bastard leaves the wall... goes back

Drogo is effectively dead... is dead...

the lannisters and the north are at war... still at war....

No-one died. There was no final scene. This was like the start of a season, not the end of one.

Well, yeah, it was like an epilogue for season 1 or a prologue for season 2, while the episode before was more like a finale, that I'll give you.

Things happened, but mostly just things to set up stuff for next year like people getting new jobs or moving to new locations or whatever. The big ending to stuff from this year was mostly the week before.
