That's the most wrong statement I've seen posted on the internet this month.
Maybe I'll give it a reread. It was four years ago and I was in a totally different mindset about a lot of things. The book was recommended to me by a friend in the history department of my college and I remember thinking it was pretty lame from the premise to the art to the layout. I figured that Hickman would never make it big. Obviously, that was wrong so maybe my thinking of the book was too.

Why why why!?!?!?!
Reading Hickman is like reading a poor man's Grant Morrison.

My problem with both guys is that they seem to be more interested in experimenting with storytelling techniques than actually telling compelling stories.

SO MUCH THIS!!!! When both are on they are good, the only Hickman example I can think of is his FF run being good till he got all fancy with the spices.

That's actually why I'm such a fan of both guys.
The witness said Mr Brown then called out to Ms Hay's adult daughter: "Look at this, I'm tittie-f***ing your mother!".

I love them both. Plus I'm never bored with the actual stories.

And I rarely enjoy either of them. That being said I do like their non "big 2" stuff more. If they just want to play around with technique, that's fine with me. Create a book and do it. Just wish they wouldn't use the iconic books to pleasure themselves because all it really does is leave the pages sticky and undesirable to many purchasers.

Fair enough. I know Morrison isn't everyone's cup of tea and Hickman's style is somewhat similar. I think he can ultimately develop into someone that's not as polarizing..
