One Chew too many, amirite? Judging from the context I think the second Chew should be I, Zombie.

Good article!

You should Chew repeatedly before swallowing.

He'd be crazy not to, he's too big now to take the crummy contract over the Image one.

That would be great news though, a new BKV book from Image.

When I was researching this last night, Rich Johnston mentioned that a prior change in the contract had driven away creators such as Warren Ellis, Garth Ennis and more.

He postulated that the new contractual change (which B Clay Moore disputes as being not 100% accurate) had the potential to drive away creators such as BKV who were largely relying on creator owned books as their primary income.

Yeah ignore the man behind the curtain...

They will release good books? no doubt, The Unwritten is my favorite book on the stands right now.
Vertigo is fine? dunno... but it looks like some Didios and Jonhns have set their sights into Vertigo properties and are interfering.

Yeps. Because of the new contract structure, it's hard to imagine anyone other than DC exclusives starting new projects at Vertigo.

Which makes it the Icon imprint for DC, only with a stronger back catalog.

I wouldn't even call it that because by all accounts the ICON deals are far more creator friendly.

The only thing Vertigo has on ICON is prestige, but give Didio 5 more years as publisher and who knows if that will still be the case.

BKV hasn't worked for Vertigo for about 3 years, and has worked for all the other companies too, perhaps he just wanted a change? It's not like he was unfailingly loyal to Vertigo.

He had done work for hire stuff at multiple publishers, but his creator owned work had all been through Vertigo and Wildstorm.
