Read book 2 today, even though it wasn't your favorite Nieto, I certainly thought it had enough improvement over book 1 to continue reading. There's some decent little subplots building, and I wonder what'll happen to the Alphas.
Nice to see characters like Carmichael die, I honestly thought people like him would stay alive for ever, thankfully the status quo seems to change regularly.
Also the character of Kim seemed a bit underdeveloped. Somthing more should have been done with her.
Overall I have two books I have got unread, and another 1 I need to order before I'll get around to the third book at least, but at least it's won me over enough to get a third shot. Definite imrprovement.

The status quo seems to change every 3 books or so.

That's cool enough, seems like a logical thing to do in a book series like this.

Twigg I think you will really dig this series when all is said and done. Some really intense and crazy stuff happens and it shows that Butcher isn't afraid to royally f up his universe. In my opinion these books just keep getting better and better.
What you say about book 1 is interesting too, if you read Butcher's intro to the book he basically says it was like a project for his writing class and you can see how it is the work of a novice writer, luckily he improves big time over the course of the series.

Mega Squirrel.
I’m listening to Changes audio book again in preparation for the new one and
whenever they mention the Red Court I’m still shocked that they’re all gone.

Sad news for fans of the audio book, there's a new narrator on Ghost Story.
Hopefully getting mine today.

Some dude named John Glover. He's alright but Marsters did such a great job.

Bought my copy today.
I am really disappointed with this book. I am definitely not going to buy his next book sight unseen.

I'm really annoyed.
I pre-ordered Ghost Story (and Grant Morrison's Supergods) from the Swedish online retailer from which I usually purchase stuff. These books are paid for. They just haven't arrived because, and I quote, "They are sold out at the supplier." I complained about this, of course, explaining that I spend rather a lot of money with their company and that I pre-ordered the books because I wanted them on the day of release. I was out in town yesterday and saw both titles at the Sci-Fi and Fantasy bookstore, but couldn't buy them as I already had copies for which I had paid. I told them this too.
I just got an email saying sorry, that there was nothing they could do but would I please accept a discount code for 29 SEK ($4.50). Said code is not useable with sale items or in conjunction with any other discount. Needless to say, they have been sent a pretty angry response.

Almost done with Ghost Story. Good stuff. And I think this book has the most comic book references out of all of them.

Ahh, the voice sounded familiar but I couldn't place it. It sound more like Morgan reading Harry's journals.
