Bahrain has arrested 127 people, mainly gay men from the Gulf countries, after police raided a "depraved and decadent" party alleged to have been a same-sex wedding, Gulf News is reporting

I'll bet there was alcohol and maybe Disco involved.

Aidooo has tasked Ghana’s Bureau of National Investigations and security forces to round up the country’s gay population and has called on landlords and tenants to inform on people they suspect of being homosexuals.

“All efforts are being made to get rid of these people in the society,” he said.

Ghana has HAD IT with beautiful neighborhoods.

Nairobi, Kenya – Prime Minister Raila Odinga has ordered a nationwide crackdown on homosexuals in Kenya.

Mr Odinga on Sunday said that police should arrest anyone found engaging in such behaviours and take appropriate legal action against them.

“We will not tolerate such behaviours in the country. The constitution is very clear on this issue and men or women found engaging in homosexuality will not be spared,” Mr Odinga said.

i think he only cares about injustices if its done to people of different races..

As long as he cares abot some things I won't complain.

In fairness, I did (obviously) start this as a parody thread. But when I searched for gay violence, arrests, etc, I found stuff like this.

I think I needed a reminder that we don't have it so good in other places.

If you are finding my attitude towards him in this thread offensive to homosexuals in general, 1) I genuinely took time to write my replies in a way to not come across that way, and 2) I'm sorry, but I'm not interested in anyone claiming the high horse here that couldn't be bothered to stand up for some of the nicest people on the board over the past few days over this bullshit. Everyone saw what was going on. Some people just walked away from it though.

actually no i didn't see any of it until today AFTER the stuff was locked up. i don't go into every freaking thread on the board. i generally stay out of the political threads, and the threads that clearly are threads that are just made to start shit. Only reason i read any of it today was A) i was bored, and B) seeing like 4 threads locked in one morning is kind of extreme.

And i've been on the receiving end of shit on this board, so don't try to tell me how i need to respond to things.

yeah its amazing how many countries do this shit to people on a regular basis. Not just to gays but to women, i read something about India doing some nasty shit to women, because someone else accused them of being witches..
