The thing is, where do you stop at being offended? There are a handful of religious people on this site, but do they get up in arms every time someone slams their religion? What about the ageism (you even used GOSD's age as a negative slam for him posting here)? Regionalism (New England & California vs. the rest of America)? Etc?
imo, an occasional slam is different than a recurring thread or following someone around trolling them. /moderated

And no LUTZ here--I honestly thought that what this site was about! A place to hang out that could possibly offend anyone and everyone, so it was basically no-holds-barred.
Well, beyond death threats and IRL/family insults.

Nate, he's a pompous, arrogant hypocrite.
You can be offended but show it by reporting the thread or avoiding them altogether. Not getting in e-fights with the "bad" people.
He's trying to justify his actions as wholesome and for "the greater good" but it's such utter fucking bullshit.
It's the "I know better" or "I'm standing up for those who won't say anything" routine.

I do understand the subtle-ties of counter-PC humor. It's true that political correctness has become so institutionalized in an oppressive way where now it's fair game for iconoclasm. Everyone here has made a joke at the expense of something that others care about, and I'm really not going on some sorta crusade against all of them. Like I said, I tried to be very careful aiming my disappointment at those I'm confident were being nasty - not edgy. And if there was any collateral damage among the other posters, I don't mind repeating that I genuinely am sorry.

That sounds familiar.

Some people just like to get on their soapbox and voice their opinions as gospel.

For good or bad, there's more and more moderation, plus a terms & conditions of services disclaimer.
I think this place has moved away from that.
Maybe the growth of a site necessitates that, I dunno.
