Honestly, the amount of closure he gave Harry with all of his friends, I suspect NONE of them will be in the series for at least a couple of books. They'll make their way back in soon, but I wonder if even Chicago is going to be sitting out for a while...

That sounds likely. On one hand it'll suck cause I love the supporting cast, but on the other, I'm sure new great characters will be introduced. Just like Sir Stuart (and Fitz to a lesser extent) in this one.

I can see how someone would have issue with that; I didn't like the way Murphy was acting either. Hopefully if Dresden gets back in their lives they will come back to normal somewhat. I'm sure it won't revert totally, but hopefully they won't be as wacked out.

Yeah I didn't like the direction Molly went. But at least she's not too far gone.

Well...

on the plus side, we've saved them the money they would have spent on the last two books.Which means, they'll have more money for food!

And...stuff.

Butcher might not see that as a plus, though. So, go out and buy the books anyway. At least we didn't spoil the part about Murphy and Molly having a tender, private moment that is interrupted by a pizza delivery boy and a shit-ton of conveniently-sized faeries...

I've actually been meaning to ask who everyone else has cast when they're reading.

I use pro wrestler Candice LaRae as Murphy.

Anybody else ever get the feeling that Toot might eventually become more than Harry can easily handle?

I didn't until he became the Winter Knight. When Harry gets out of that I think their relationship will go south.

Actually, that probably wouldn't be very amusing for Dresden. He keeps warning the reader and himself that none of the Fae are to be trusted. What's he gonna do when Toot graduates from little plastic swords to claymores and can go and get his own 'za?

In a couple of centuries, Toot may be appointing his own Pizza Knight.

He’s going to usurp the Erlking! (I half believe this will really happen :D )

I usually stop trying halfway into wondering who in the hell could possibly play Harry. Butcher routinely makes the effort to remind us how incredibly tall the guy is, and there's not a whole lot of actors who fit that bill. It's like Butcher was intentionally trying to make it impossible for a show or movie to accurately cast Harry.

I dunno. I thought the actual show was kinda crap, but the people playing Harry and Bob were utterly perfect. They are who I envision when I read the books...

Plus if Harry is that tall, how does he comfortably fit into a VW Bug? They changed the car in the show to a Jeep so that Blackthorne could fit. :smt102

Trust me, every book is better than the previous one.

Don't give up: it gets so much better. Book one and two are my least favorites, actually...

I for some reason hardly ever imagine bob as a person, even when he is out in spiritual form I just imagined him more ghost/whisp like. It threw me off in the show when he was just some dude.

I always wondered about that too. One of those things that makes me think Butcher isn't that tall but just thought it was a good quality to give his main character.
