Nah kidding. Its a fun book to study as part of a course at the 4th year university level, but I would never read it for pleasure. My best friend has read it several times and it's his favourite book. He's nuts though. If you were forced to read it in high school, I can see how you would hate it. The only thing by Joyce that should be read in high school is Dubliners.

I am of a firm belief that high schools don't properly formulate their curriculum to give kids of the respective age an appreciation for literature.
